Meet Anurag Makade, a non-IITian, who received a record-breaking salary offer. Every season, multinational corporations and tech companies from around the globe visit Indian educational institutions to recruit some of the finest talent available. Numerous Indian students from esteemed institutes like IITs, IIMs, and NITs secure substantial job placements each year.
During the last placement season at the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Allahabad, five students achieved placements with annual packages exceeding Rs 1 crore. Among them, Anurag Makade secured one of the highest packages worth Rs 1.25 crore from Amazon, the US-based e-commerce giant.
Anurag happily shared the news of his joining Amazon as a Frontend Engineer with his LinkedIn network, expressing his excitement. He pursued BTech in IT at IIIT Allahabad and originally comes from Nashik, as mentioned on his Facebook profile.
Before joining Amazon in Dublin, Ireland, Anurag had previously worked as a software engineering intern for cure-fit in Bengaluru, Karnataka, and as an Analyst Intern for American Express in Gurugram, Haryana. He officially began his role as a full-time Frontend Engineer at Amazon in September 2022.
Besides Anurag’s remarkable achievement, Pratham Prakash Gupta from IIIT Allahabad secured a package of 1.4 crores from Google. Moreover, Palak Mittal was reportedly hired by Amazon for a package exceeding Rs 1 crore, while Akhil Singh received an offer from Rubrik with a package of Rs 1.2 crore.
