Big news in Indian cinema! The special 1000-crore club, where movies make a ton of money, is getting bigger. In the last year, four movies joined this special club. And right now, two more movies are close to joining, making it a big change in Indian movies.
Actresses like Deepika Padukone, Nayanthara, and Srinidhi Shetty have been in movies that made more than 1000 crores. But the first leading lady to do this might surprise you.
It was Anushka Shetty who started it all. Remember Baahubali: The Conclusion? That was the movie that did it. It broke records in 2017 by making over 1000 crores in just one week! Anushka, along with Prabhas and Rana Daggubati, made this happen.
Anushka has been a big star in Telugu movies for a long time. She started in 2005 and has been in successful movies like Arundhati and Rudhramadevi. She’s been in lots of hits in Telugu and Tamil cinema, like Vikramarkudu, Souryam, and the two Baahubali movies.
Since Baahubali, five other Indian movies have made more than 1000 crores. Some famous ones are Dangal with Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Shaikh, RRR with Alia Bhatt and Shriya Saran, KGF Chapter 2 with Srinidhi Shetty, Deepika Padukone’s Pathaan, and Nayanthara’s Jawan. Deepika and Sanya are the only actresses with two movies in this club, but they played supporting roles in Jawan.
