Arjun Menda, a lesser-known billionaire, currently possesses an immense fortune, having emerged from modest origins to construct his multimillion-dollar empire.
Arjun Menda, a relatively obscure billionaire, made a remarkable entry onto the Grohe-Hurun India rich list for 2023, swiftly rising to the third position. Leading the Bengaluru-based RMZ Corp alongside his family, Arjun Menda and his family find themselves trailing only the Lodha Group family and DLF chief Rajiv Singh. Menda’s astounding net worth has been estimated at an impressive Rs 37,000 crore.
Despite now possessing vast wealth, Menda’s journey from humble origins to establishing his multi-crore empire is remarkable. Born in Shikarpur Singh, which is now in Pakistan, Menda and his family were compelled to abandon all their assets and property when they migrated to India during the partition.
Despite the family’s limited resources, Arjun Menda was able to pursue his studies at IIT Kharagpur with the help of scholarships. Now, in a gesture of giving back to society, Menda’s foundation provides scholarships to hundreds of students each year, enabling them to pursue their dreams.
Equipped with a degree from a renowned institution, Menda embarked on his career as an industrial engineer at Mahindra & Mahindra Limited. His entrepreneurial journey commenced with a small-scale unit in Bengaluru in 1967. However, in the 1980s, he decided to alter his life’s trajectory and venture into the realm of real estate. Presently, his two sons, Raj and Manoj Menda, oversee the family business. The establishment of RMZ Corp took place in 2002.
At present, Menda’s company has established itself as one of the leading players in constructing corporate offices within the software hubs of Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Pune, and Chennai. Additionally, Arjun Menda is married to the sister of Chandru Raheja, who is a prominent real estate tycoon and serves as the chairman of K Raheja Corp. On the real estate rich list, Raheja closely follows Menda, with a net worth of Rs 26,620 crore.
