In an inspiring tale of perseverance and determination, an IAS officer, K Jaiganesh, has proven that with unwavering dedication, even the toughest challenges can be conquered. Hailing from the quaint village of Vinavamangalam in Vellore district, Jaiganesh’s journey showcases the triumph of hard work over adversity.

Coming from a modest background, Jaiganesh completed his early education in his village’s school. After finishing Class 10, he pursued studies at a polytechnic college with the hope of securing a job after graduation. Subsequently, he pursued mechanical engineering at the Tanthi Periyar Institute of Technology.

After completing his BTech degree, K Jaiganesh entered the workforce, only to realize that his true aspiration was to become an IAS officer and crack the challenging UPSC exam. Undeterred by initial failures, he embarked on the path to preparing for the civil services exam. Despite facing setbacks in his first six attempts, he did not lose sight of his goal.

During this period, Jaiganesh also found himself at a crossroads when he qualified for the Intelligence Bureau exam. The choice between accepting the job opportunity before him and pursuing his seventh attempt at the UPSC exam posed a significant decision. Opting to follow his heart, he decided to take on the UPSC CSE for the seventh time.

This decision ultimately proved to be a turning point in Jaiganesh’s journey. With unyielding determination, he achieved an impressive All India Rank (AIR) of 156 in the civil services exam. What makes his story even more remarkable is that, while preparing for this rigorous exam, he made a bold choice to leave his private job after completing his BTech. He relocated to Chennai and undertook various odd jobs, including working as a waiter, to sustain himself.
