Hailing from a financially humble background, Jayaganesh once worked as a waiter in a hotel before achieving an All India Rank (AIR) of 156 in the UPSC exam in 2008.

Jayaganesh’s educational journey started in his village school, followed by admission to a Polytechnic college. Despite obtaining a degree in mechanical engineering from Thanthi Periyar Institute of Technology, securing a decent job remained elusive. To support his family, he took up roles as a billing clerk in a movie theatre and a waiter at a hotel, yet the income was insufficient.

Realizing the need for a better-paying job and nurturing his aspiration to become an IAS officer, Jayaganesh made a crucial decision. Despite facing six failed attempts at the IAS exam, he secured a position in the Intelligence Bureau (IB) in 2008. While many would have been content with such an achievement, Jayaganesh grappled with a dilemma, as his heart was set on becoming an IAS officer.
