Reddy founded Megha Engineering Enterprises which started by constructing small pipes for municipalities, but today the company has expanded to developing massive infrastructure projects such as roads, dams, natural gas distribution networks, and lift irrigation projects. Currently, his company is constructing the largest lift irrigation project in India called Kaleshwaram, which aims to supply 5.7 crore cubic meters of water daily to drought-prone areas of Telangana from the Godavari River.
The project is estimated to cost a whopping $14 billion, and Reddy has compared it to “moving a river.” Despite the success, Reddy remains humble and acknowledges that the achievements of his venture are the result of collective efforts. As of now, he is the Chairman of Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Limited (MEIL), which has a net worth of Rs 26,700 crore.
According to Burgundy Private Hurun India 500, MEIL is one of India’s top 10 most valuable companies that started without any external funding, with a valuation of Rs 26,700 crore.
