Rikkie Valerie Kolle has created history as the first transgender model to win the esteemed title of Miss Netherlands. The finalists for this year’s competition included Nathalie Mogbelzada from Amsterdam, who achieved a commendable position. Habiba Mostafa was awarded the title of Miss Congeniality, while Lou Dirchs received the title of Miss Social Media.
Originating from Breda, Rikkie Valerie is a 22-year-old Dutch-Moluccan model and actress. Her extraordinary triumph secures her position as the representative from the Netherlands for the highly anticipated 72nd Miss Universe 2023 pageant. Since her victory, Rikkie aims to serve as a voice and role model for the LGBTQ+ community, inspiring them to pursue their aspirations.

This triumph holds significant historical importance as Rikkie is only the second transgender participant in the Miss Universe pageant. The first transgender model to compete in the beauty pageant was Angela Ponce from Spain, who made history in 2018.

She shed light on their struggles and challenges, encouraging them to fearlessly pursue their passions. Rikkie emphasized that the LGBTQ+ community often faces familial pressure and rejection for being true to themselves.
