Shortly after her debut film’s release, Sabeeha’s mother accused India’s biggest superstar of alleged misconduct towards her daughter.

In 1992, Akshay Kumar found his breakthrough in the musical suspense thriller Khiladi, directed by Abbas-Mustan. It proved to be one of the year’s most successful films, establishing Kumar as the new action star. His co-stars, Ayesha Jhulka and Deepak Tijori, also received praise for their performances and continued to appear in notable films. However, the fourth primary lead, Sabeeha, did not receive the expected boost after Khiladi’s release.

Sabeeha’s background

Born on October 9, 1972, Sabeeha (also known as Sabia) came from a Muslim family in Mumbai. Her father, Kamran, was a renowned actor-director, and her mother, Ameeta, was a top actress in the 50s, known for films like Tumsa Nahin Dekha, Goonj Uthi Shehnai, Sawan, and others.

Sabeeha’s connection with Farah Khan and Sajid Khan

Few people know that Sabeeha, Farah Khan, and Sajid Khan are related. Before marrying Ameeta, Kamran was previously married to Menaka Rani, making Farah-Sajid Sabeeha’s step-sister and step-brother.

Sabeeha’s successful film debut

Inclined towards acting, Sabeeha made her debut at 15 in Rajesh Khanna and Smita Patil’s Anokha Rishta (1986). The film became successful, opening doors to numerous offers for Sabeeha.

Sabeeha’s encounter with Rajesh Khanna

According to reports, after the film’s release, Ameeta claimed to the media that Rajesh misbehaved with Sabeeha several times during the shoot of Anokha Rishta. Despite Ameeta’s statement, Khanna remained unaffected by these allegations, but Sabeeha’s promising career suffered a setback. She remained without work for four years after Anokha Rishta. However, she persisted and starred in successful films like Baap Numberi Beta Dus Numberi and Khiladi.

Failing to secure lead roles in major films, Sabeeha ended up with forgettable parts in movies such as Sone Ki Zanjeer, Qayamat Ki Raat, and Aaja Sanam. Eventually, she decided to quit the film industry, and her last big-screen appearance was in Sanjay Dutt’s Jai Vikraanta (1995).

Sabeeha’s Career as an air hostess

After leaving the film industry, Sabeeha joined Saudia Airlines and worked as an air hostess. She chose not to marry and is now enjoying her life, taking care of her mother and leading a quiet existence in Mumbai.
