Belonging to a renowned business family founded by Khwaja Abdul Hamied in 1935, a disciple of Mahatma Gandhi, Samina was groomed for success by her uncle and pharma tycoon Yusuf Hamied. Her father, Mustafa Hamied, serves as the non-executive vice-chairman of Cipla.

With a strong educational background, Samina earned an MSc degree in International Accounting and Finance from the prestigious London School of Economics and Political Science. Prior to joining Cipla in 2011, she worked for the multinational corporation Goldman Sachs in the US and UK.
Throughout her career at Cipla, Samina has shown exceptional leadership, heading strategic projects, overseeing the firm’s consumer healthcare business, and managing HR and administration. In 2015, she played a vital role in the company’s entry into the US market with a significant acquisition valued at $550 million.
