We often hear stories about IAS officers marrying other government officers. But today, let’s talk about someone who took a different route. IAS officer Smita Gate has a unique love story that doesn’t involve marrying another government official. Instead, she married well-known TV actor Nitish Bharadwaj. Their special love story started when they met through some common friends.
Smita was born on March 16, 1966, in Pune. She focused on her education, completing school at Central School and continuing at Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce. Smita pursued knowledge further, earning degrees in Microbiology from Nowrosjee Wadia College and Sociology from Garware College of Science and Arts.
Nitish Bharadwaj, famous for playing Lord Krishna in BR Chopra’s ‘Mahabharat,’ got to know Smita through mutual friends. Their connection grew quickly, and they fell in love after a few meetings. Despite differences in their jobs, they found common ground in their hearts, leading to the decision to get married.
On March 14, 2009, Smita and Nitish started their journey together, entering into their second marriage. They welcomed twin daughters named Devyani and Shivarjanee, adding a unique chapter to their love story.
However, love journeys often face challenges. In 2022, Nitish Bharadwaj shared with the media that he and Smita decided to part ways after 12 years, mutually agreeing to the decision. The reason for their separation remains undisclosed, highlighting the privacy they prefer for their personal lives.
Despite the difficulties, Smita Gate and Nitish Bharadwaj’s story shows the beauty of embracing unconventional paths in love.
