Sudarshan Venu has been at the forefront of TVS Motor Company’s leadership since May 2022, holding the position of Managing Director. As the torchbearer of this automotive giant, Sudarshan has propelled the company to become India’s third-largest manufacturer of two-wheelers. A scion of the Venu family, Sudarshan is a fourth-generation businessman, inheriting his business acumen from his father, Venu Srinivasan, who serves as the Chairman Emeritus of TVS Motor.
Sudarshan’s sibling, Lakshmi Venu, shares the family’s business legacy as the Joint Managing Director of Sundaram-Clayton Limited (SCL), an integral part of the TVS Motors Group. The conglomerate’s market capitalization stood at an impressive Rs 92,357 crore as of December 21, underscoring its significant presence in the Indian market. On the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the company’s share price was noted at Rs 1,945.
Educationally, Sudarshan Venu boasts a graduate degree with honors from the Jerome Fisher Program in Management and Technology at the University of Pennsylvania, USA. His passion for automobiles dates back to his upbringing, surrounded by the reverberating sounds of engines from India’s oldest factory racing team.
Under Sudarshan’s dynamic leadership, TVS Motor has experienced a notable resurgence in its market share. His strategic vision has played a pivotal role in the company’s international expansion into regions such as Africa, ASEAN, and Latin America.
