Paul Workman has worked as a foreign correspondent for Canadian television networks for about 35 years.

He worked for CBC News for over 20 years before joining CTV News on July 13, 2006. At CTV, he served as the London bureau chief until 2023.

Along with his field reporting, he has appeared on major CTV and CBC news programs and specials. His on-air credits include CTV National News and CTV News Channel’s Power Play. 

He was also part of CTV’s live coverage special Queen Elizabeth II: State Funeral (2022). On the CBC side, he appeared as a correspondent in the documentary project Deadline Iraq: Uncensored Stories of the War.

Along with Power Play host Vassy Kapelos and co-anchor Mike Le Couteur, Workman has contributed reporting for the program as part of CTV News Channel’s political coverage. 

During the Queen Elizabeth II: State Funeral special, the broadcast was led by Omar Sachedina, with Anne-Marie Mediwake and David Tyler also listed in the on-air team, and Workman appearing in the special.

  • Lifetime achievement honour (2024): In 2024, he was named the recipient of the Gordon Sinclair Award for Broadcast Journalism, a lifetime achievement award given by the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television.

The complaint against Paul Workman was that he said the wording could make viewers think humanitarian aid was being blocked by Israel. This was presented as a media-bias complaint by that group.
