Early career: Radio beginnings
After graduating from Seneca College, Roger started his broadcasting career in radio. He worked at several stations before making the move to television news.
1999 to 2004: Citytv Toronto reporter, anchor, and Autoshop host
In 1999, Roger joined Citytv Toronto, taking on a variety of roles. He worked as a reporter and anchor for CityNews (formerly CityPulse) and hosted the car show Autoshop.
In 2002, he became the first morning show reporter on Breakfast Television Toronto, contributing to the network’s flagship morning programme.
2004 to 2006: Lead anchor at Citytv Vancouver
In 2004, Roger moved to Citytv Vancouver and became the station’s lead male anchor. From 2005, he co-anchored CityNews at Six alongside Julie Nolin.
