Elaine Quijano began her journalism career in 1994, as an intern at WCIA-TV in Champaign, Illinois. Later she became an anchor, reporter, and producer at the same news channel WCIA-TV. After gaining experience as an intern Quijano left WCIA and joined WFTS-TV in Tampa, Florida, to become a general assignment reporter.
