Larry Berman is a Canadian market strategist, portfolio manager, and television host. He is best known as the host of BNN Bloomberg’s weekly show, Berman’s Call.

Berman is one of the very few professionals in the country who holds three of the industry’s top credentials at the same time: the CFA, the CMT, and the CTA.

He is also the primary author of the textbook used for the technical analysis course offered by the Canadian Securities Institute.

Larry Berman Early Life and Education

Larry Berman was born in Toronto and entered the city’s child welfare system as a newborn. He was given up at birth by a single mother whose family would not allow her to keep him, and he was adopted four months later.

Education

Larry studied at York University in Toronto, where he completed a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. He began working as a Toronto-based investment advisor assistant in 1986 while finishing his undergraduate degree.

1986: Begins as an Investment Advisor Assistant in Toronto

Larry started his career in 1986 as a Toronto-based investment advisor assistant while he was still completing his economics degree at York University.
