Amidst this sea of hopefuls, only a handful manage to navigate the hurdles and fulfill their dreams of becoming civil servants. IAS Ananya Das shines as an exceptional achiever whose journey stands as a beacon of dedication, intelligence, and determination.
Born on May 15, 1992, Ananya Das hails from Odisha. Her father, a former Bank of India employee, now enjoys his retirement. Displaying remarkable academic aptitude from a young age, her passion for learning led her to graduate with an engineering degree from the esteemed Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras.
IAS Ananya Das achieved an impressive feat by cracking the UPSC CSE in her very first attempt, securing the notable All India Rank (AIR) 16. Following the completion of her BTech degree, she briefly worked as a software engineer in a multinational corporation.
Proudly belonging to the 2015 Gujarat cadre of IAS officers, Ananya Das earned the distinction of being the top performer in the UPSC CSE for her year. Prior to her current role, she served as the commissioner of the Cuttack Municipal Corporation.
Currently, Ananya holds the esteemed position of Collector and District Magistrate (DM) of Sambalpur. Her journey to this point was complemented by her marriage to IAS Chanchal Ran, a fellow officer from the 2014 batch. It’s worth noting that Ananya was previously married to IAS Abdaal Akhtar, from whom she later divorced.
