In 2019, he collaborated with director Puri Jagannadh for the action thriller iSmart Shankar

The film became a commercial success for Pothineni after a series of failures, grossing over ₹90 crore — his career’s highest grosser at the time. The film starred Ram alongside Satyadev, Nabha Natesh, Nidhhi Agerwal, and Ashish Vidyarthi.

The film was theatrically released on 15 August 2024, coinciding with Indian Independence Day, but was panned by critics and became a major box-office bomb.

It moved to OTT (Prime Video) in just 21 days after its theatrical release — a major shock to the industry.

2025 — Andhra King Taluka

Andhra King Taluka (2025) was a Telugu-language action comedy-drama written and directed by Mahesh Babu P., starring Ram alongside Upendra and Bhagyashri Borse.

The film was released on 27 November 2025. It received positive reviews from critics who praised the lead pair’s performances, direction, and music, though the lengthy runtime was criticised.

Despite positive reviews, the film flopped at the box office, grossing around ₹32.50 crore worldwide, but gained an overwhelmingly positive response from OTT audiences.
