Riteish Deshmukh is an Indian actor, filmmaker, and television presenter. He was born on 17 December 1978 (47 years old) in Latur, Maharashtra, India.

He mainly works in Hindi and Marathi films and has been active in the film industry since 2003. 

He made his screen debut in the Hindi film Tujhe Meri Kasam (2003). Over the years, he has been known for comedy roles, along with work as a producer and presenter.

Riteish Deshmukh  Early Life and Education 

Riteish Deshmukh grew up in a prominent political family. After graduating, he worked for a year with an architectural firm in New York City.

Upon returning to India, he practised architecture and interior design, co-owning an Indian-based firm called Evolutions. While working in design, his interest in the arts grew.

He moved back to the United States to study acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute in New York City before making his Bollywood acting debut in 2003.

Riteish studied at G. D. Somani Memorial School. He later completed a Bachelor of Architecture from Kamla Raheja College of Architecture/Kamla Raheja Vidyanidhi Institute for Architecture and Environmental Studies (Mumbai).

Riteish and Genelia met on the set of their debut film, Tujhe Meri Kasam. After dating for nearly a decade, they tied the knot on February 3, 2012, in a traditional Maharashtrian ceremony, followed by a Christian church wedding the next day.

Riteish Deshmukh started his acting career in 2003 with the Hindi film Tujhe Meri Kasam. He worked with Genelia D’Souza and Shriya Saran in the film. 

In 2004, he appeared in Masti as Dr Amar Saxena, alongside Ajay Devgn, Vivek Oberoi, Aftab Shivdasani, Lara Dutta, Amrita Rao, Tara Sharma, and Genelia D’Souza.

From 2005 to 2006, he continued with films like Kyaa Kool Hai Hum (2005), Bluffmaster! (2005), and Malamaal Weekly (2006). 

In 2007, he featured in popular comedy films such as Heyy Babyy with Akshay Kumar, Fardeen Khan, Vidya Balan, and Boman Irani. 

The same year, he also acted in Dhamaal, sharing the screen with Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi, Aashish Chaudhary, and Jaaved Jaaferi. 

Between 2008 and 2013, he stayed active with several releases every year and also became part of film franchises, including the Housefull series and the Masti series. 

In 2010, he acted in Housefull with Akshay Kumar, Arjun Rampal, Lara Dutta, Deepika Padukone, and Jiah Khan. 

In 2014, he received strong attention for Ek Villain, where he worked with Sidharth Malhotra, Shraddha Kapoor, and Shaad Randhawa. That year, he also made his Marathi acting debut with Lai Bhaari (2014).

From 2016 to 2020, he continued working in Hindi films, including franchise titles like Housefull 3 (2016), and later films like Total Dhamaal (2019), Housefull 4 (2019), and Baaghi 3 (2020).

In 2022, Riteish directed and starred in the Marathi film Ved. The film also starred Genelia D’Souza, Ashok Saraf, and Jiya Shankar. In 2024, he acted in films such as Kakuda and Visfot. 

He also worked on a web series. In 2024, he played Prakash Chauhan in the JioCinema series Pill, alongside Pavan Malhotra and other credited cast members. 

In 2025, his film list includes Raid 2, Housefull 5, and Mastiii 4. 

In 2026, he led the Hindi-Marathi bilingual film Raja Shivaji, where he is also credited as director and co-writer. Reports also said the film crossed the ₹100 crore mark in India’s net collections.
