Samantha Lane Career 

Samantha Lane’s career began soon after her graduation. She started writing for the Carlton Football Club’s monthly magazine and the AFL website. Lane joined The Age newspaper, contributing to the sports section, and became a panelist on Network Ten’s AFL show Before the Game from 2003 to 2012.

In 2013, she joined the Seven Network to cover Saturday night AFL matches and has been a prominent figure in Channel Seven’s broadcasts of AFL Women’s matches since 2017. 

Sam has also contributed to ABC Radio’s AFL coverage and co-hosts the ABC podcast The W – with Sharni and Sam. In 2018, she published her first book, ROAR, and is currently working on a biography of Erin Phillips.
