Cadabom Hayder, a canine from Karnataka, has earned the distinction of being the most expensive dog or pet in India, valued at an astounding Rs 20 crore.

A Bengaluru resident named S Sathish is the proud owner of Cadabom Hayder, the dog who holds the esteemed title of the most valuable dog in India. This impressive canine belongs to the breed known as Caucasian Shepherd Dog, alternatively referred to as Caucasian Ovcharka. With a price tag of Rs 20 crore, Cadabom Hayder holds the record for being the most expensive dog or pet in India.

Originally bred as a livestock guardian dog, this large breed hails from cold regions such as Russia, Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan. The Bengaluru breeder made a substantial purchase, spending an amount that exceeds the annual salaries of top CEOs, to acquire this particular breed. Furthermore, the maintenance of this one-and-a-half-year-old dog requires a significant investment.

According to reports, Hayder has achieved an impressive feat of winning 32 medals in competitive events. The Caucasian Ovcharka breed typically has a lifespan of approximately 10-12 years and boasts an imposing size comparable to some of the largest wild cats. These dogs can weigh between 45 and 50 kilograms but can reach up to 77 kilograms.

Additionally, they stand at a height of around 27-30 inches. In the past, they served as guardians for herds of livestock, protecting them from coyotes and wolves. They have also been employed as hunting dogs for bears. In present times, they are utilized as prison dogs in Russia, although the breed is said to be prohibited in Denmark.
