Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran revealed that he receives four to five messages per day related to Air India, which is owned by the Tata Group.

He is responsible for the Tata Group, a company known for its ethical business practices, which now owns Air India. At the BT MindRush 2023 event, N Chandrasekaran, the Chairman of Tata Sons, shared that Air India, which is owned by the Tata Group, is currently undergoing a transformation, and the entire nation is rooting for the airline’s success. He also mentioned that he receives four to five messages daily about Air India, which he interprets as a reflection of the airline’s widespread support and goodwill.
When asked whether he takes action on the messages he receives, the 59-year-old executive responded that he does respond and takes appropriate action when feasible.
According to N Chandrasekaran, the Chairman of Tata Sons, Air India enjoys widespread support across the nation. He mentioned that he receives numerous emails every day, including messages from people expressing their desire to work for Air India, providing feedback or suggestions, and sharing their positive or negative experiences of flying with the airline. He added that some people also acknowledged the improvements in the airline’s on-time performance and customer service.
In January of last year, the Union government ceded control of Air India to the Tata Group, and subsequently, 100% of the airline’s shares were transferred to Talace Private Limited, a subsidiary of Tata Sons.
In 2019, Chandrasekaran received a pay package worth Rs 65 crore. However, in 2021-2022, he received a much larger package worth Rs 109 crore, making him the highest-paid business executive in the country.
