IAS officers are highly respected for their service to the country. Every year, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) organizes exams to select the right candidates for these jobs.
This exam is known as the second toughest in the world. Passing it is hard. Out of the lakhs of people who apply, only a few hundred succeed each year. The competition is so tough that many people don’t even try.
Despite the difficulty of the UPSC exam, two sisters from Delhi managed to become IAS officers. Tina Dabi got the first rank in 2015, and her sister Ria Dabi followed in her footsteps by securing the 15th rank in 2020.
Ria Dabi went to Jesus and Mary School in Delhi and later studied BA Political Science at Lady Shri Ram College for Women, Delhi University.
Ria is now married to IPS officer Manish Kumar, whom she met during her training in Mussoorie. They both cleared the civil services exam in the same year. Ria is currently working as an SDM in the Udaipur district.
On the other hand, Tina Dabi, Ria’s sister, is on maternity leave. She recently had a baby boy with her husband, IAS officer Pradeep Gawande.
