At the age of 18, Leslie began his career as a newsroom intern at Montreal’s CKGM radio. He covered the 1980 Quebec referendum and had the opportunity to interview Premier René Lévesque.

1985 to 1997: CFCF-TV Montreal (CTV affiliate)
