Siddharth began his journey in the film industry as an assistant director for Mani Ratnam on Kannathil Muthamittal (2002).
Writer Sujatha recommended him for an audition with director S. Shankar, which led to his acting debut.
In 2003, Siddharth began his acting career as the lead in Shankar’s Tamil coming-of-age film Boys, opposite Genelia D’Souza.
In the next year, he appeared in Mani Ratnam’s multi-starrer political drama Aayutha Ezhuthu, featuring alongside R Madhavan, Suriya, and Trisha Krishnan.
